Prepare Samsun's famous Bafra pita at home with its paper-thin dough and savory minced meat filling.

1 cup is 200 ml. 1 tea glass is 100 ml. 1 tablespoon is 15 ml. 1 dessert spoon is 10 ml. 1 teaspoon is 5 ml.

Combine flour, yeast, salt, and warm water in a bowl, knead until smooth, and let it rise.
Sauté the minced meat with a little water until it absorbs it, then mix in finely chopped onions, salt, and pepper.
Divide the dough into egg-sized pieces and roll them out oval and very thin using flour.
Place the meat filling in the center and fold the edges slightly inward to form a boat shape.
Bake in a preheated oven at 250°C (480°F) for about 15-20 minutes until the edges are crispy and golden.
Brush the hot crust with plenty of butter, slice, and serve immediately.
Note. Rolling the dough very thin and baking in a very hot oven are the secrets to its signature crunch.
Traditional Bafra pita dough is made only with flour, water, yeast, and salt.
The onions are added raw, while the meat is lightly pre-cooked and cooled before mixing.
