Mix flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and lukewarm water in a bowl to knead a soft dough, then let it rise.
Prepare the filling by combining ground beef, finely chopped onion, and grated tomatoes in a bowl.
Divide the risen dough into portions, roll them into oval shapes, and fold the edges to form pide boats.
Spread the meat filling in the center of the dough and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C until golden brown.
Place the baked hot pides on a serving plate and ladle hot meat broth over them to lightly soak the base.
Drizzle with melted butter, slice, and serve hot.
Note. Be careful not to over-soak the bread with broth; it should be moist but still retain its structure.
A well-strained beef or lamb bone broth simmered for hours yields the best flavor.
About 40-45 minutes at room temperature is sufficient.
