Spread a generous amount of coconut flakes evenly across the bottom of a baking tray without leaving any gaps.
In a saucepan, combine milk, flour, sugar, and cocoa powder, whisking until smooth.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the pudding thickens and bubbles.
Remove from heat, add butter and vanilla, and beat with a mixer for 3-4 minutes until smooth.
Carefully pour the hot pudding over the coconut layer and spread it evenly with a spatula.
Let it cool to room temperature, then chill in the refrigerator for at least 3-4 hours (preferably overnight).
Cut the chilled dessert into rectangular slices, spread whipped cream on top, roll them up into logs, and serve.
Note. Wet your spatula slightly before spreading the pudding to prevent disturbing the coconut base.
It might be breaking because it hasn't chilled long enough. Make sure to refrigerate it for at least 3-4 hours.
Yes, you can use whipped cream mixed with cream cheese or thick clotted cream (kaymak).
