Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Warm water (as needed)
- 2 tablespoons butter (for brushing)
- 2 cups yogurt
- 3 cloves garlic
- 3 tablespoons butter (for sauce)
- 1 teaspoon ground red pepper
Method
- Knead flour, salt, and warm water in a bowl to obtain a soft dough and let it rest for 20 minutes.
- Divide the rested dough into meringues and roll each out into thin flatbreads using a rolling pin.
- Lightly dry the rolled flatbreads and cook them slightly on a griddle or pan without browning too much.
- Grease the cooked flatbreads with butter, roll them up, and slice them into two-finger widths.
- Arrange the sliced siron upright in a baking tray and bake in a preheated 180°C oven until slightly browned.
- Crush the garlic, mix it with yogurt, and pour it over the hot siron coming out of the oven.
- Pour the melted butter with red pepper on top and serve hot.
To keep the siron crispy, make sure they are hot right when you take them out of the oven before pouring the yogurt.
